Botanical printing, also known as eco-printing, is a process that truly captures the wonder of Mother Nature. Plant materials are gathered locally and placed on top of fabric, which is then tightly bundled and steamed for several hours. Natural pigments in the leaves are released by the heat and transferred to the cloth. At various stages in the process, modifiers can be used to either deposit additional colors or influence the fabric’s existing hues. Each handprinted piece is one of a kind and can never be exactly replicated.
